Jan Folan is a self taught artist based in West Yorkshire.

Her work looks like a painting, but take a closer look and you will see it is made entirely from paper.

​

She uses recycled and hand painted papers in her work. She tears or precisely cuts the paper and carefully blends the colours to create beautiful, colourful and textured pieces of art. Each piece of paper represents a brush stroke. She calls it painting with paper.

Yorkshire is a constant inspiration for her landscapes. From its seaside towns and quaint villages to the rugged terrain of the Yorkshire Moors.
